We use the term “microtones” to describe sound frequencies that happen to be in between the keys of your grandmother’s piano. Although the use of such tones was, is and will be perfectly normal, it is now something unknown to many and it is probably why we use the term “microtonal music”. That term though doesn’t describe any type of musical feeling. Microtones can be heard in traditional music from around the world, in the works of curious composers, by accident when your friend was too lazy to tune her instrument or instinctively when you sing. In this mix you will hear microtonal music that I personally enjoy and it is my great pleasure to share it with you.
